VAT relief for disabled people


If you’re disabled or have a long-term illness, you won’t be charged VAT on products designed or adapted for your own personal or domestic use. Also, you won’t be charged VAT on:
  • The washroom, bathroom and sanitaryware goods MyTub supply which are designed or adapted for a disability.
  • The installation and any extra work needed as part of this.
  • Repairs or maintenance.
  • Spare parts or accessories.

Qualifying products or services

Please contact us for more clarification but products designed or adapted for a disability qualify. For example, certain types of:

  • Toilet products
  • Washroom products
  • Bathing products
  • Medical appliances to help with severe injuries
VAT relief for disabled people

To get the product VAT free your disability has to qualify. For VAT purposes, you’re disabled or have a long-term illness if:

  • You have a physical or mental impairment that affects your ability to carry out everyday activities, eg blindness
  • You have a condition that’s treated as chronic sickness, like diabetes
  • You’re terminally ill

You don’t qualify if you’re elderly but able-bodied, or if you’re temporarily disabled.

You’ll need to confirm in writing to us that you meet these conditions. Please complete these two forms

Disappointed, did not receive goods on date given. On further enquiry to My Tub customer service, adviser who was apologetic and took my details but did not phone me back with progress update, I had to re-phone for progress update and was advised by a more than helpful adviser that my order had not even been picked up by the courier for delivery and was awaiting dispatch. Had an e mail the following day with update on expected delivery date, unfortunately no will be home to receive goods on this date and will have to see what the courier does as I have been told the goods need a signature on receipt. Not happy especially with the cost of £12 delivery charge. Post office do Special delivery next day service starting from £5 and order can be picked up locally if no one is home o...

I received the part next day and the part works. It is an obselete part so I did, there can be no doubt whatsoever, pay an inflated price. I am glad, however. to have the part and there are only a few left in the country so we’ll done Mytub. It arrived in a manufacturer’s box, well packaged. I have the part an I-76 controller and my Uponor underfloor wet central heating system is working. I am grateful to mytub for having the part, and I must say the staff were extremely polite and kind and pushed through at speed the order. I did pay £12 to get it in the 1-2 day delivery facility and in fact it arrived the next day. Super chuffed. I would not hesitate to recommend them and I’m not easy to convince with these type of transactions. Faith buoyed up. Thank you, indeed, Mytub. JHJ...
