Ventilation Division Restructure

It is widely known that since the early 90’s Powrmatic have manufactured a wide range of high quality natural and powered ventilators to complement our extensive range of heating products.

Despite the undoubtedly challenging economic climate, Powrmatic Ltd continues to commit to investment and growth and the current restructuring of the Ventilation Division is testament to this.

After many years at a leading brand in the industry, Phill Terry has been recently appointed as Powrmatic’s Business Development Manager for the Ventilation Division and is co-ordinating the restructuring and development of the ventilation business and deployment of a strategy for growth in the coming years.

Whilst in difficult times many companies seek to diversify into other areas or ‘bolt on’ complementary products or services, Powrmatic’s strategy is to focus on exactly what Powrmatic do best, but with a heavy emphasis on doing that better than before! Essentially, Powrmatic is an engineering business and Powrmatic’s unparalleled manufacturing capability is Powrmatic’s greatest asset and what clearly sets Powrmatic apart from other companies in the sector.

Recent years have seen much manufacturing of ventilation products moving overseas, particularly to Europe. Retaining manufacturing of all Powrmatic’s products direct in the UK means Powrmatic flue products can be provided to meet the most demanding project deadlines meaning the long lead times associated with bringing in product from overseas are avoided. In a highly competitive environment this gives Powrmatic’s customers in all sectors a huge benefit.

A key part of Powrmatic’s strategy is to further reduce manufacturing lead times by developing standard product variants and sizes and more sophisticated production planning techniques. Stuart Parris has recently been appointed as the Ventilation Division’s Project Engineer with responsibility for the operational side of the Ventilation business. Stuart brings a wealth of experience in the manufacturing and construction sectors.

Coupled with continued improvements to Powrmatic’s manufacturing processes, investment in new products is highly important and a full Research & Development programme is firmly underway headed up by the Division’s new Research & Development Engineer, Nigel James. Nigel has a strong technical background previous held consultancy positions and well as technical director of a leading specialist glazing contractor.
Several brand new ventilation products in development and will soon be launched, including a new range of powered environment extract fans, a smoke damper specifically developed for smoke shaft applications, new glazed casement ventilations and even a new glazed louvred ventilator ! The team is soon to be strengthened by an additional Area Sales Manager in the North of England. Powrmatic’s sales team are able to offer free product application advice to Powrmatic‘s customers to ensure the best product is selected to meet the required budget, design and regulatory requirements.

In addition to the Powrmatic Sales Team, a UK wide network of approved specialist design and installation partners means Powrmatic’s customers are never far away from a Ventilation Expert fully backed with a range of Powrmatic products for a total ventilation solution, ensuring comfortable and safe conditions in the built environment.

The Ventilation Division’s dedicated offices are located at Powrmatic’s llminster manufacturing plant. The Division’s offices are supported by Kevin Hill and Vanessa Thorne. Kevin Hill has an un-paralleled knowledge of Powrmatic’s ventilation range and heads up the Division’s Drawing Office and Technical Department. Vanessa Thorne has recently joined the team as Business Co-ordinator.
