Pimlico Plumbers has reported an increase in revenues of around half a million pounds for the first quarter of 2014 as a result of securing a growing number of multi-trade projects.
The Central London-based company achieved sales of £5.25 million for the first three months of this year, an increase of £441,000 (nine per cent) on the same period in 2013.
These figures put Pimlico Plumbers’ total sales at £16.5 million for its current financial year, which ends on May 31, and on course to achieve a record turnover of £20 million for the first time.
The company, which employs 200 tradespeople and a support team of around 50 at its depot and contact centre in Lambeth, has attributed much of the growth in sales to an increase in customers in the capital using more than just one of its services on single projects.
In addition to its core plumbing, heating and drains divisions, Pimlico Plumbers also offers electrical services, joinery, roofing, building and renovations.
To meet demand, the company has expanded its eight-strong service team with the appointment of two additional specialist technical services managers to co-ordinate the increasing number of multi-trade jobs.
Charlie Mullins, CEO of Pimlico Plumbers, said:
“Significantly, these other services aren’t being used in isolation as London homeowners return to the type of pre-recession property projects such as new bathrooms and extensions. Whereas in the past we’d be called in just to fit a boiler or a new shower, customers are increasingly using us for entire rooms and sometimes whole houses.
“Of course, after the financial disaster zone of the past few years, customers are still being careful with their money in this economy, but they will spend with confidence with companies they know and trust. The hard work we’ve put in to broaden our services is paying off and putting us on course for another record year.”
