Roman plans to amaze with Lumin8 at upcoming KBB Birmingham

RomanLumni8

Nobody can accuse Roman of hiding its light under a bushel and so the UK shower companies going to headline at kbb Birmingham with its new Lumin8 range.

The show will be the official launch of the Lumin8 range which clearly has a bright future and some would say is light years ahead of its competition. Lumin8 will share the spotlight with the recently launched Decem range.

Roman’s new Lumin8 range is formally launched from February and as the name suggests, is focused on bringing a mainstream range of 8mm thick glass products to the market which caters for all the major sizes and shapes on the UK market.

All the products in the range stand 1950mm and feature wrap around adjustable chromed cover caps on top of the profiles. The chromed brass handle has been designed to suit all products in the range and bring a contemporary feel to the collection.

The collection includes one door and two door quadrant options across all the major quadrant and offset quadrant tray sizes. The bi-fold door options in the range cover all main sizes and even offer a 1200mm bi-fold door in one pre-assembled frame.

The Lumin8 pivot door features solid chrome brass hinges and all of the side panels are frameless top and bottom to give a minimalistic look. There are two power shower approved bath screens included in the new range, which include the option of the traditional inward and outward opening design and the outward opening design which features chromed brass hinges.

The price points that have been set in the market are, says Roman, extremely competitive and offer outstanding value for money in the current market. The range features a high standard of finish and includes Roman’s ‘Ultra Care’ pre-coated glass protection system and its ‘Truelife Lifetime Guarantee’.

As well as the Roman stand revealing the compelling new Lumin8 collection, the Decem range will present its luxury 10mm thick glass hinged door collection which majestically stands at a sophisticated height of 2000mm, along with the various hardware options the range offers.

Roman’s managing director, David Osborne said:

We are all set to officially launch our brand new range of shower enclosures and bath screens at this year’s kbb Birmingham event

Our Lumin8 collection has been meticulously designed to solve the variety of space restrictions the bathroom holds by offering a diversity of designs and sizes, which is sure to provide something for every bathroom.

kbb Birmingham is the perfect platform to officially launch our outstanding new range, which truly offers a high level of specification for an excellent price – further proof that British manufacturing in the bathroom industry is vibrant and flourishing.

F & P donates £37,000 to wheelchair charity

fpF & P Wholesale, the distributor of heating, plumbing and bathroom products to independent builders’ merchants, has raised thousands of pounds for national wheelchair charity, Whizz-Kidz, following two years of fundraising.

Throughout 2012 and 2013, F & P Wholesale organised a series of events designed to involve everyone within the business in fundraising activity – from employees through to customers and suppliers – resulting in a phenomenal final total of £37,000.

The first fund-raiser, the Back to Floor event, was launched in 2012. F & P Wholesale tasked the nine distribution centres to raise money through bake sales, auctions and dress up days, as well as donations from customers and staff. The Wakefield distribution centre who raised the most money were rewarded by the F & P Director’s joining the warehouse team for a day – making tea rounds, assisting with goods in and sweeping the floor.

This event, which raised £2,700, kicked off a series of activities to raise money including golf days, bucket collections, Christmas card sales and sweepstakes. Due to these efforts, F & P Wholesale raised £18,000 in 2012.

F & P Wholesale employees then planned various charitable activities to raise even more funds in 2013. In June, staff at F & P went head-to-head with plumbing and heating merchant, Williams and Co., in a charity football match, where a 6-1 win to F & P saw over £700 raised by the two teams.

In addition, two F & P Wholesale employees also took part in a charity sky dive in September. Richard Birch, key account manager and Ray Selwood, warehouse supervisor at the West Midlands distribution centre, raised more than £2,000.

A team of head office, branch staff and customers undertook a ten mile sponsored walk in their quest to fulfil the ‘Glo the Extra Mile’ challenge, in support of the annual Whizz-Kidz ‘Neon Nightwalk’ fundraiser. The entire team embraced the neon theme with bright outfits.

Jed Kenrick, managing director at F & P Wholesale, said:

We are thrilled with the total amount of money raised in support of Whizz-Kidz. The response and involvement from all employees, customers and affiliates was overwhelming – I want to thank everyone who donated and took part in the various challenges. I am blown away by the £37,000 total amount raised.

There are thousands of disabled young people in the UK currently waiting for the correct wheelchairs for them. By raising as much money as we possibly could during the past two years, we have made a real contribution toward helping Whizz-Kidz get the right equipment to the right children as quickly as possible.
