The Philmac 3G™ range of compression fittings doesn’t just represent the latest technology available; it is the next generation of pipe fitting.

The 3G range is a global platform of pipe fittings. By simply changing the nut, split ring and seal, 3G™ fittings can effectively join any standard of PE pipe including normal gauge, metric and imperial pipe types.

Featuring Philmac’s unique Slide & Tighten® technology, 3G™ compression fittings make installation easy. No insert is required and no force is needed to push the pipe into the fitting. In addition, a visual stop indicator reduces the risk of over tightening.

Philmac Large Bore Metric

Philmac Metric is the second generation of Philmac compression fittings and is one of the fastest, easiest and most reliable connector for joining metric polyethylene pipe. Installing these compression fittings takes one-third of the time of conventional compression fittings because there’s no pipe preparation and no fiddling with loose components. You just slide in the pipe, tighten the nut and the job is done.

The Metric Large Bore range caters for fitting sizes 75mm to 110mm.

Philmac BSP

Philmac gas threaded fittings are manufactured from high performance, UV resistant propylene material that prevents moisture absorption and sustains product dimensions. The chemical and corrosion resistance provides reliable, long life connections suitable for diverse applications and is a cost effective alternative to metal fittings.

The precision BSP tapered threads have been engineered to maximise sealing performance and the hexagonal body makes them easy to install.

Philmac threaded fittings (excluding risers) are suitable for working pressures up to PN16 (1600kPa, 235psi) for sizes up to 2? and up to PN10 (1000kPa, 145psi) for sizes up to 4?. The fittings are manufactured to ISO9001 quality endorsed standards and include a comprehensive range of plugs, bushes, nipples, sockets, tees, elbows and caps.

A proven drainage system for almost 40 years, the Timesaver cast iron above and below ground drainage systems offer superior strength, non-combustibility, enhanced noise reduction in a sustainable solution. Other benefits include easy installation through simple mechanical or push-fit couplings, plus the cast iron material guarantees a long-lasting drainage solution of up to 50 years.

Mike Rawlings, marketing manager – Soil & Drain at Saint-Gobain PAM UK, explained: “We are delighted to release an up-to-date Timesaver product guide for specifiers, explaining the numerous key features of the system.

eezi-fitENSIGN SYSTEMS SPECIFIED FOR NEW SOUTH GLASGOW HOSPITAL

Ensign drainage systems from iron technology leader Saint-Gobain PAM UK, part of leading materials company Saint-Gobain, have been specified for the sanitary soil and internal rainwater system in the new South Glasgow Hospital, set to be one of the most advanced adult acute services hospitals in the UK.

Designed and constructed by Brookfield Multiplex, the hospital will be the biggest critical care complex in Scotland. Built on the site of the existing Southern General Hospital in the south west of the city, it will comprise a new acute care hospital with 1,109 beds in single-room accommodation, a 256-bed children’s hospital, 30 modern operating theatres and a separate laboratory block providing biochemistry, haematology and blood transfusion services. It is due for completion in 2015.

Ensign, which will be used throughout the £840m development, was specified for phase 2 of the project by M&E consultants ZBP and M&E consultants Wallace Whittel. Installation is by John Crawford Mechanical of Glasgow.

For the hospital project, the Ensign system will be connected to cast iron, plastic and stainless steel products, using Saint-Gobain’s ground-breaking EEZI-FIT range of push-fit socketed fittings and couplings, designed to combine all the benefits of cast iron with the simplicity of push-fit assembly.
