Marking its fifth year as the official gas registration body, Gas Safe Register has launched a new free work management app for Gas Safe registered engineers.
The Gas Engineer Workspace app is designed for sole traders and small businesses and allows them to:
- Manage day-to-day jobs, with an easy to use calendar that shows when and where jobs are
- Log customer contact details, including phone numbers, email addresses and home addresses
- Set reminders for scheduled work to help manage time
- Contact customers direct from the app, sending a reminder for any upcoming jobs
Russell Kramer, chief executive for Gas Safe Register, said:
“Engineers work extremely hard and have been telling us that a tool to manage their working day would be a great help. We have been listening and are pleased to announce the launch of the Gas Engineer Workspace app, to mark our fifth anniversary. Now you can record when a customer’s gas safety check is due, what gas appliances they have, the work you did on your last visit or even if you can park easily outside their house.
“Over the next few months, we’re hoping to add more functions to the app, including a range of calculation tools for pipe sizing and ventilation calculation.
To download the app, engineers should visit the app store on their iPhone or Android smartphone and search ‘gas engineer workspace’. Once they have downloaded the app, they can log in with their Gas Safe Register user ID/license card number and password.
