Department of Energy and Climate Change Exhibitions – Renewable Heat Incentive

DECC1To help businesses, installers and consumers find out about the recently launched domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme, the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) will be attending a series of exhibitions this spring.

The domestic RHI scheme is for homeowners and private and social landlords who want to install renewable heating systems in their homes in England, Wales and Scotland.

It provides long term financial support for property owners who install renewable heating systems and marks a milestone in energy efficiency as it is the first time every building in the country is able to take advantage of financial incentives to install renewable heat technologies.

Property owners will receive quarterly payments for seven years to help cover the cost of installing a renewable heating system. The scheme applies to certain types of hot water and heating systems, including air source heat pumps, biomass boilers, ground source heat pumps and solar thermal systems.

At the events, attendees will also be able to find out how the domestic RHI and the Green Deal will work together to ensure that all participants benefit from having a smarter, warmer home.

DECC has already exhibited at Energy Now Expo, Ecobuild and the National Homebuilding & Renovating Show and will be attending another dozen events nationwide, including:

• May 7 and 8: Greenbuild Expo, Manchester Central
• May 17 and 18: Scottish Homebuilding & Renovating Show, SECC, Glasgow
