Hunslet Baptist Church, Leeds is 174 years old and for several years has been undergoing a major redevelopment project to create a centre for the community. It was decided to convert the basement area into male and female bathrooms.
Sub Contractors Calder Valley Plumbing services hit a predicament early in the conversion work when they realised the new toilet facilities were to be sited below existing local drains.
Saniflo’s area sales technical sales experts were called in to advise on the problem.
A solution was found by installing a Sanicubic commercial lifting station connected to an existing external toilet block some distance away. The WC‘s, wash basins and urinals from male and female toilet areas connected directly into the Sanicubic whilst a remote less abled Doc M pack was plumbed via a Sanislim into the Sanicubic. A Sanialarm was fitted into the Sanislim whilst the Cubic incorporates its own wireless remote alarm system.
Initially the contractors excavated down to the soil substructure before preparing a concrete floor finish and some eight months later the project was completed.
The initial installation of the Sanicubic
Sanicubic is a high performing macerator pump that can discharge waste and water from multiple WCs and other waste water producing appliances.
It pumps waste away through small-bore pipework up to 11m vertically, 100m horizontally or a lesser combination of vertical x horizontal.
The unit has inlet diameters of 110mm for WC waste and 40mm for waste water.
The unit can handle waste water of up to 70°C for short periods and has dual motors for absolute reliability and power.
There are two alarms one unit mounted and one remote. The unit operates on a domestic power supply of 220-240V AC 50Hz.
Installation of Sanislim & Doc pack
The Sanislim is a macerator pump specifically designed for use with slimline sanitaryware.
Designed to take waste water from a WC, wash basin, shower or bidet it will pump it away up to 4 metres vertically and 40 metres horizontally or a lesser combination of both.
